Hello All,

It’s that time of year again to begin our Early Edge Football Skills training. This year will be much improved and effecient as compared to last year. We have streamlined it and added additional coaches to run the training.

We are going to do it in four week blocks on Saturday’s, staring on Feb.28 through March 21. Each block will cost a discounted price of $120 for 4 Saturday’s. Should you choose not to buy the block, you can attend each session for $40 for an individual session.

We will have two separate sessions based on age/grade of the athlete. Session 1 will be for 2nd through 5th graders and will be run from 8:00-9:30am. Session 2 will be for 6th through 8th graders from 945-1115am.

Each session will consist of the following:

1. Running, Agility, Speed technique instruction.
2. Offenisve skills (blocking, ball handling, route running)
3. Defensive skills (tackling, block protection, turnover training)

The only equipment needed is cleats and water.

Please email me asap and let me know if your planning on attending so we can get an accurate head count and have the equipment prepared ahead of time.

SAUGUS SPARTANS – Youth Football Team 2009

We are proud to announce the creation of our very own youth football program. The Spartans will have teams for children ages 6 to 13. All practices and home games will be held on the campus of Saugus High School. Come to our PARENT INFORMATION MEETING on Saturday, January 31 at 10:00am in the outdoor theater at Saugus High School.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: The summer “Dead Period” (no practice) will be July 18 – August 7th. Plan your vacations during this time.

The Varsity Awards Ceremony will take place on December 14th, 2008.

This Friday night, 2008 Saugus Football will be going after the outright Foothill League title against the Canyon Cowboys. The last one was 28 years ago!! It’s been a long time coming and for every one of you former players, who played under Coach Jason Bornn, take pride in the knowledge that you all played a pivoted role in the growth of this program and its successes. Come on out and cheer them on and watch them ring that bell!! Show up and support this Varsity squad onto victory and share in their success and show your Blue Pride!!

Game is at CoC and starts at 7:30.
