The Saugus Centurions are back in the CIF-SS semifinals for the first time since 2017 after a dramatic 28–27 overtime comeback win against Calabasas.
Down 21–7 at halftime in a rainy matchup, Saugus stormed back behind a dominant performance from running back Ty Hall, who scored all four touchdowns and rushed for 162 yards. After the game, Hall credited his teammates, saying, “It’s all props to the team. I can only do what they let me do and what the Lord lets me do. Props to all 62 other guys.”
Quarterback Jake Nuttall threw for 103 yards, with 80 going to standout receiver Landon Lattimore.
The duo has been electric all season, highlighted by a breakout performance against West Ranch, where Nuttall passed for 342 yards, completed 19 of 22 attempts, and set a program record with seven touchdown passes.
Lattimore also set a single-game program record with five touchdown receptions. Nuttall enters this week having broken the school’s all-time records for career passing yards (5,051) and completions (452).
Defensively, Saugus has generated consistent pressure, posting 17 sacks and 55 quarterback hurries. Linebacker Mono Ortega leads the team with 3.5 sacks. The secondary has also shone with 10 interceptions totaling 186 return yards.
